25 Chart Takeaways: The Weeknd (‘Starboy’) Returns to No. 1

Weeks removed from the no. 1 bow of Starboy, The Weeknd reclaims the throne in a lackadaisical week.  Right behind Starboy is the soundtrack for Moana.  Both albums represent a mere 1% of the Billboard 200, dated January 21, 2017.

  1. The Weeknd reclaims the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with Starboy. Last week, the album sat at no. 2. Interestingly, Beauty Behind the Madness ascends from no. 65 to no. 27.
  1. The Moana soundtrack gets a lift from no. 6 to no. 2. The album posted gains this week, unlike many albums in the top 20.
  1. Drake (Views) returns to the top five (no. 8 to no. 4).
  1. The Sing soundtrack ascends 13 spots from no. 21 to no. 8.
  1. The Chainsmokers sees Collage EP rise 12 spots from no. 23 to no. 11.
  1. Post Malone sees Stoney improve in position only (no. 25 to no. 14). The album itself didn’t post gains.
  1. The La La Land soundtrack ascends from no. 52 to no. 15.
  1. Rihanna (Anti) reenters the top 20 (no. 28 to no. 16).
  1. Travis Scott moves up 20 spots with Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (no. 39 to no. 19).
