10 Hot 100 Takeaways: ‘Bad and Boujee’ Rises to No. 1

Things are grooving on the Billboard Hot 100.  After returning to no. 1, Rae Sremmurd (“Black Beatles”) have been booted from the no. 1 spot for a second time. Migos, assisted by Lil Uzi Vert,  earns their first no. 1 hit with “Bad and Boujee.” Arguably a song like “Bad and Boujee” doesn’t scream no. 1 hit initially, but one listen to the explicit banger, and its infectiousness unveils itself.  “Bad and Boujee” and “Black Beatles” represents a mere 2% of the Billboard Hot 100 dated January 21, 2017.

  1. Migos and Lil Uzi Vert score their first no. 1 hit with “Bad and Boujee,” which ascends from no. 2 to no. 1.
  1. Rae Sremmurd finds themselves dethroned once more, as “Black Beatles” slips from no. 1 to no. 2. A second single, “Swang” is on the rise, jumping from no. 76 to no. 71.

  1. Kaleo are on the rise with “Way Down We Go” (no. 98 to no. 85).
