10 Hot 100 Takeaways: ‘Black Beatles’ Returns to No. 1


Rae Sremmurd returns to no. 1 with hit single, “Black Beatles.” 

After one short week at no. 1, The Weeknd (“Starboy”) was forced to relinquish his throne.  Once more, Rae Sremmurd reclaimed the glory, taking “Black Beatles” back to its rightful spot at no. 1.  Beyond The Weeknd and Rae Sremmurd, there are a number of notable chart stories from the Billboard Hot 100 dated January 14, 2017.


  1. Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane reclaim the top spot with “Black Beatles.”



  1. Migos and Lil Uzi Vert have a hit on their hands with “Bad and Boujee,” which ascends from no. 13 all the way to no. 2!


  1. The Weeknd (“Starboy”) settles for the third place – no. 3.


  1. Jon Bellion is on his way up. “All Time Low” ascends eight spots from no. 24 to no. 16.



  1. Niall Horan sees his solo debut “This Town” improve 17 spots, from no. 37 to no. 20.


  1. Wham! (featuring George Michael) reenters the Billboard Hot 100 at no. 33 with “Careless Whisper.” “Careless Whisper” is a former no. 1 hit.


  1. In addition to two Wham! songs, George Michael sees “Faith” reenter the charts at no. 47. Like “Careless Whisper,” it is a former no. 1 hit.



  1. PnB Rock makes huge gains with “Selfish” (no. 85 to no. 51).



  1. Thomas Rhett ascends up the charts with “Star of the Show” (no. 76 to no. 59).


  1. Rae Sremmurd picks up steam with another single, “Swang” (no. 99 to no. 76).
