Chart Moves: Les Mis is no. 1; Bruno’s Locked Up; Chris Tomlin Could Be No. 1

Les Mis “Dreams” Its Way To no. 1

The soundtrack to Les Miserablés moves up to no. 1, selling 92,000 copies. It is always impressive when a soundtrack manages to crown the Billboard 200 Chart, but the numbers suck… just saying.  The top 10 of the Billboard 200 Chart is slow, no surprise following Christmas and the busy 4th Quarter. That said, the 4th Quarter was down as well. Oh well. If you really want all the details, here’s the link to the summarization from ‘Les Miserables’ Soundtrack Hits No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

Bruno Locked Up

Also boringly, Bruno Mars remains atop the Billboard Hot 100 with “Locked Out Of Heaven”. Shocker…

Chris Tomlin may land at no. 1 next week.

Chris Tomlin’s Got Next, Maybe…

Conor Maynard

No disrespect, but Christian albums rarely bow atop the Billboard 200. Last year, Toby Mac got it done, with a tepid 69,000 copies for a no. 1 album. Chris Tomlin has a good shot in a drab week with Burning Lights.  If he makes it, he has every reason to be proud, but the 60,000 – 70,000 copy forecast for a no. 1 album again sucks.  Hollywood Dead should make the top 10. of course cautions Tomlin’s victory lap, as who knows if another dream can come true for Les Miserablés.  As for my boy Conor Maynard, does anyone realize he has an album out (Contrast, Parlophone Records)? If it doesn’t sell then I guess it’ll be the girls telling him “no”.

Boring week right? That’s all folks – we are all encapsulated in the deadness of January. Ugh…
