I usually add my reviews either to sites in which I contribute reviews or my amazon.com page. Since “Lamborghini Angels” has only been released to iTunes and not amazon.com yet, I have decided to share my impressions of the single here.
Lupe Fiasco releases another single (the third) from his forthcoming fourth studio album. “Lamborghini Angels” is well produced, characterized by its clapping synthetic drums, transposed lowered pitched vocal interjections/effects, and that never ending synthetic loop. If nothing else, Lupe’s flow is solid, driving, and unfaltering. The lyrics are as brainy as ever (“With a circle on the floor he compels them to be pure/pulls the beast out of his heart then impales it on a sword…”), but that’s Lupe’s gift and charm.
Opening with random speech (“it’s a mad world out there I tell you, the world’s gone stark raving mad”), the speech sample serves as a prelude to Fiasco’s hook: “I see diamond-flooded demons, Lamborghini angels… halos down with the doors flapping when they came through…” Following his hook, Lupe is simply on fire. It takes a couple of listens to follow all of his rhymes and to receive the full effect of his message, but once you do, the magic of “Lamborghini Angels” shines brightly. Intelligent and clever by all means.
